Christmas 2011

Right around Christmas time it snowed in Albuquerque. Then a week later we got another snow and because of the cold temperatures it didn't melt.  You could say we had a white Christmas which doesn't happen very often. This gave us occasion to build a snowman and have some fun in the snow.

Maddie and Sam are found often in this position...one using the other for a pillow.  They are so close and continue to have this special bond and friendship.

Polly threw an ugly Christmas sweater party this year.  I went looking high and low for ugly sweaters and couldn't find anything.  So we went decked out as "The hip 80's couple."  It was really so much fun and we laughed so hard that night.

Christmas Eve.  The wise-men and sheep

Dallin and Olive made a wonderful Mary and Joseph

Christmas morning...after we had gone  9am church.  It was kinda nice to open our presents after hearing an incredible music presentation that our ward put together.  It was a spiritual start to our very special day.  And we were already showered and ready for the day.

Maddie was elated to receive her purse and lip gloss with matching jewelry.

The day after Christmas we went up to Colorado to do some snowmobiling with Dad.  We had quite an epic ride.  We started in Fox Creek and went cross country all the way up to Oisher Pass, and then on to the top of Cumbress Pass.  Then we rode back.  It took pretty much the entire day.  It was absolutely amazing to scale these mountains with your snowmobile and get to and reach places you could otherwise never see...especially in winter.

Dallin did pretty well keeping his balance going down on his feet.  It might be time for a snowboard soon.
