This was an amazing ride. Even more amazing to do it with family. Dad (Lane Sego) really was the one who got us all involved with biking. Some of us learned to love it while others not as much. But it was another reason to spend time together as a family. A hundred miles is no easy feet, but it was fun to stop at the rest points and eat lunch together. On tandem were Dave and I, Dad with Polly, and Andrew with Annie. Abe and mike rode single bikes. It was a very memorable day.
Riding a tandem bike is a pretty neat experience. You can attain speeds that arn't possible on a single bike. Sitting on the back you can really feel the speed and it kind of feels like you are flying. Its really exhilarating. But then it is also hard work. Tandems are very heavy in comparison to single bikes and difficult to pedal uphill. You have to work twice as hard to get up the hill. Its great to ride with Dave. We can chat and lift each others spirits when it gets tough. You really have to be a team to ride this way...and we are definitely a team!!
