Colorado Adventures

Maddie balancing herself across a large log

We got some cool video of Maddie doing some pretty cool gymnastics on this log she used for a balance beam. She actually jumped up and down several times and landed perfectly on the log with 2 feet. Not only is she more daring and adventerous than Sam, but also seems to the one most likely to be athletic.
.

Dave's brother Steve and wife Laura came to Albuquerque for a visit in June. They flew here all the way from Florida. Our children had never met before. We spent most of the week in Colorado. The kids enjoyed the fire pit made by Uncle Andrew.

Enjoying the warmth of the fire. It was suprisingly cold for June!

At Duck Lake...one of our favorite scenic hikes. All the rain gear has come in extremely handy. The twins are almost 26lbs and are just about breaking our backs. Next year they'll have to walk!!

David and Uncle Steve

Elena was quite a trooper and hiked most of the way.

taking a quick rest

Uncle Steve, Aunt Laura, Elena and Rory. Laura hiked to the waterfall like a champ, and didn't utter any complaint for being 6 months pregnant.

It was such a great occasion to see Steve and Laura and their kids(whom we had never met).
We felt so grateful that they would make the sacrifice to come all the way to Albuquerque.
In the future we are looking forward to visiting them wherever they may move next...maybe overseas...we love you guys so much
