January/February/March 2004

We spent a lot of time in Colorado these winter months. It was exciting to watch the cabin take form and to be a part of some of the work....by work I mean helping clean up the construction site and cleaning dirty logs. It was hard work...but it was a great way to show our support and gratitude for all the many sacrifices Papa and Grams have made to help this dream come true.
And of course as you can see...it wasn't all work. There is always room for play time too.
The Conejos river in March runs right through sheep creek where the Cabin is located.
The cabin, located in the Rio Grande National Forest, is some of the most scenic and quiet calm surroundings of all of Colorado. Of course this is a biased opinion, but we have seen most of Colorado...and although its hard to compare beauty..the area where the cabin sits is not heavily populated. Its very much out of the way from any decent size city. We like it this way.
This is the Fox Creek chapel, located 10 min from our cabin. Its been really nice to have a place to go to church, since we spend so much time there.
The Cumbres Toltec & Scenic Railroad runs close near our property.

The entire cabin is tongue and groove on the inside. It is just beautiful to look at
